Beef and Yam Stew with Tomato Sauce and Tumeric

1 pk of 2-3lb of beef stew beef
1 tbsp of olive oil
2 cloves of diced garlic
1/2 white diced onion
2 peeled yams cut into quarters
1 pk of stew beef flavouring
1/2 cup of fresh diced parsley
1 cup of water
200g or 1/3 of a jar of 600ml strained tomatoes
2 tbsp of tumeric
dash of salt and pepper
2 cups of rice or quinoa

In a deep pot, add olive oil, garlic, onion and beef. Fry for 5 mins. Add yams, salt, pepper, and tumeric. Stir and cook for and additional 5 mins. Add water, tomato, stew seasoning pk,  parsley and cook on low heat for 20 mins with lid partially on.

In a sperate pot, boil, rice or quinoa. Drain and serve with beef.
