Health-Wise Vodka Sauce
A lighter version of the classic pasta alla vodka that is creamy, delicious and easy to prepare.
A delicious classic without all the extra fat.
350g of your favourite pasta ( I prefer regatoni, spaghetti or penne)
4 pieces of cooked ham sliced into smaller pieces
2 cloves of minced garlic
2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
1/4 of a cup of vodka
2 cups of 2 % milk
1 tbsp of corn starch
1/4 of a tsp of sea salt
1/4 of a tsp of pepper
1 tbsp of tomato paste
1 cup of fresh grated parmegiano cheese
1. In a saucepan, combine, oil, ham and garlic and cook until ham is golden.
2. Add vodka, tomato paste, milk, salt, pepper, corn starch and mix well ensuring corn starch is well blended.
3. Cook on low heat for 15-20 mins. Add parmegiano cheese mix and serve.
Serve with your favourite pasta!
